Woodhouse Road and Patumahoe Road
Initial site investigations are underway for new pedestrian crossing facilities on Patumahoe Road and Woodhouse Road. Pedestrian and vehicle counts have been completed to help determine the most suitable crossing types and locations. Both roads connect to Mauku Road, which currently lacks a dedicated pedestrian crossing. In line with the programme’s goal of improving safety and connectivity, this project aims to deliver safe and efficient crossing points for pedestrians and active transport users—particularly school children who regularly travel through the area.
Patumahoe.
Patumahoe is a growing village approximately 10km from Pukekohe. As Patumahoe grows with new housing subdivisions, getting children to school safely is a priority.
A path along Hunter Road and Woodhouse Road
The 'Hunter Road circuit' is a popular walking route used by locals who have requested safety improvements for walkers, particularly along the rural part of Woodhouse Rd. The targeted rate will fund a path along Hunter Road and Woodhouse Rd, connecting with existing footpaths.
New crossing or pedestrian enhancement within Patumahoe
As Patumahoe grows with new housing subdivisions, getting children to school safely is a priority. The targeted rate will fund one new pedestrian enhancement - the exact location and form is yet to be confirmed, however the intention would be to create safe routes to school for children going to Patumahoe School.
